CCD – Confraternity of Christine Doctrine. CIC offers a religious education programme for children, as well as classes for the sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation. Classes are taught on a voluntary basis by members of the CIC community. CCD classes DURING mass are offered for ages – 3 to 8 years. Classes last approximately 25minutes. We also offer PRE CONFIRMATION Classes AFTER Mass for children aged from 9 to 12 years. Classes for the sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation are held AFTER Mass and last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Children preparing to receive the sacrament of First Holy Communion must be 8 years old turning 9 years old by the time they receive the sacrament. Children preparing to receive the sacrament of Confirmation must be 13 years old turning 14 years. We will however accept children who are older.
CIC charges a small fee to cover costs for educational material of Kes 1500 per child for CCD and Pre Confirmation Classes. Fees for classes for the sacraments cost Kes 4,500 per child and includes St Austin’s Parish Registration Fees.
All classes run similar to the international school term dates.
